Back in 2013, Alvvays released their self-titled debut album, and charmed critics and fans alike with their brand of indie-pop that struck the perfect balance of bittersweet. Their sophomore album, Antisocialites, followed four years later in 2017, and the band once again fronted a strong line-up of singles as John Congleton took over production duties from Chad VanGaalen.
For this limited edition 7" inch single, P-VINE has paired “Not My Baby” from Antisocialites with “Next of Kin” from Alvvays for a cross-album reflection and celebration of the band's catalogue. As a pairing, guitars jangle with intricate melodies, snares reverberate 80s nostalgia, and Molly Rankin’s vocals tower above in lucid horizons as lyrics deal with themes of breakups and loss.
